ABOUT KINGS PARK MUSIC TUITION
Learn with a qualified and experienced Teacher
I'm Emma and hail from St Albans (near London). My music career began at an early age with dedicated focus on the Piano from the age of 6 and the Violin from age 12.
After completing ABRSM grades on both instruments I gained my BA (HONS) Music degree at the University of Southampton where I studied Piano with David Owen Norris along with Composition, Orchestration and Arranging. I subsequently led a varied musical life directing and accompanying choirs, playing with orchestras along with writing and publishing music. I've been fortunate to teach Piano with County music services such as Northampton Music and Performing Arts Trust (NMPAT) and private schools such as Spratton Hall.
I am deeply passionate about peripatetic music teaching and have a Diploma from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in Instrumental Tuition (DipABRSM). I recently completed the Piano Teachers Course for LRSM (a licentiate in advanced level teaching) and hope to finish this in the coming year.
Since moving to Scotland 3 years ago I have enjoyed working for the Glasgow Piano Teachers and playing Violin with several orchestras such as Scottish Sinfonia, the New Edinburgh Orchestra and Stirling Orchestra.
A recent move to Stirling has prompted the establishment of my own teaching studio (a long dream in the making). I look forward to taking on new students and building a thriving musical community.
My overall goal is to inspire a love of Music and support people in their journey towards self-directed, life-long learning.
My approach to lessons is inspired by Paul Harris's simultaneous learning philosophy (imaginative teaching where all the elements of music are connected).
I have PVG membership and professional registration with both the European Piano Teaching Association (EPTA) and the European String Teachers Association (ESTA).
